HR BUSINESS PARTNER – HEAD OFFICE AT NMB BANK PLC

Job Purpose:
Align and translate business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on HR related issues.

Main Responsibilities



Work in partnership with other HR team members to develop and coordinate the best practice HR strategies, policies, initiatives and procedures.
Act as a liaison to make sure the business receives optimal HR services, provide proactive and responsive service on all aspects of HR strategy, policy and procedures.
Manage and orchestrate the talent & management development process to identify key talent, key roles, future potential talent and succession plans.
Ensure positive implementation of new strategic HR change initiatives, translating the strategy to a practical approach with the management of the business unit.
Manage, coordinate and provide advice to the business on employee relations issues to  improve work relationships, in return to build morale, increase productivity and retention.
Monitor quality and compliance on Performance Management process as well as ensuring performance culture is instilled among employees.
Support line managers in identifying training needs for their respective business units and ensure implementation of training framework together with the specialists from COE.

Qualifications and Experience

The qualifications and duties for each of the positions above are described below:

A. LECTURER (PUTS 3.3)
Qualifications:
Possession of PhD, Master degree in relevant fields with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5, and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum score of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent. He/she must be computer literate, being capable of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.

Duties:
As for Assistant Lecturer/Research Fellow with added responsibilities, he/she will be required:
– To teach in face to face sessions and lead seminars;
– To undertake an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before
– To undertake individual research and participate in bigger multi-disciplinary research projects;
– To prepare manuals and case studies for training;
– To offer close supervision and guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students;
– To manage undergraduate programmes
– To undertake consultancy projects.

B. ASSISTANT LECTURER (PUTS 2)

Qualifications:
Possession of a good Master’s Degree (B+ or above GPA 3.8 – 3.6) in a relevant discipline or equivalent after having attained a GPA of 3.8 and above at undergraduate level. He/she must be computer literate, being capable of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.

Duties:
As for Tutorial Assistant plus:
– Writing new study materials, scripts for radio broadcast, video and audio cassettes, various reports and papers,
– Adopting and/or supplementing existing materials,
– Liaising with course writers, editors, reviewers, producers, artists, coordinators and other members of the course team,
– From time revising course materials and audio programmes,
– Giving public lecture, tutoring and leading academic discussions,
– Setting and marking course assignments and/or tests, examinations supervision offield work, practical and all other related academic  activities,
– Encouraging and motivating students to improve themselves academically,
– Helping to identify and set up local study groups,
– Conducting research work and disseminating research findings.

C. TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (PUTS 1.1-1.3)

Qualifications:
Possession of a good First Degree (B+ or above GPA 3.8 – 3.6) in a relevant discipline or equivalent after having attained a GPA of 3.8 and above at undergraduate level.

Duties:
– Writing scripts for radio broadcasts, video and audio cassettes, various reports and papers,
– Supplementing existing study materials,
– Editing, reviewing and translating course materials,
– Assisting senior staff in preparing content for e-Learning for the ELMS.
– Providing support materials, guidance and counseling and other services to students,
– Helping to keep students’ records correspondence and other communications,
– Helping in general academic administration as will be asked of him by seniors,
– Doing any other task as may be prescribed by one’s reporting officer, Dean of the Faculty or

Director of an Institute and/or the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) from time to time.

D. LABORATORY SCIENTIST
Possession of a First Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life/Medical/Physical Sciences or related field from a recognized institution. Must be computer literate

Duties
-Maintains glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing.
-Provides glassware by ordering, receiving, and inventorying glassware.
-Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
-Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
-Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
-Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data as well as selecting corrective measures.
-Performs any other related duties as assigned the supervisor.

E. ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGIST (PUSS 2.1)
Possession of Diploma in Computer Science/ Engineering/Technology/ Special Education or any other relevant field from a recognized institution

Duties
-Assists in all technical duties requiring a higher degree of planning and designing competence in the areas of students practical and projects.
-Assists in research and development activities.
-Assists in maintenance of special needs ICT facilities.
-Assists in organizing student practical.
-Performs any other related duties as be assigned by the supervisor.

Project Overview and Role
As part of the CDC-funded REACH project, Palladium seeks to recruit a well-qualified Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer with experience in HIV clinical settings and strategic information. This project will focus on improving reporting and data management at the RHMT and Local Implementing Partner level for HIV service delivery, with the goal of improving data use in decision-making. By improving the quality and accessibility of data, the project is intended to improve the quality of health care in Tanzania and the information available for decision-making at the clinical and policy levels.

The M&E Officer will provide informatics and DDIU expertise for the health management information system components of the REACH project. She/he will report to the Strategic Information Advisor. Qualified candidates will have expertise in two or more of the following areas:


  • Conducting/managing capacity building needs assessments related to health information systems (HIS);
  • Data manipulation for decision making;
  • Training for data use;
  • Data Quality Assurance /Quality Improvement
  •  Electronic medical records
  •  HIV clinical service delivery.


Responsibilities

  • Support all strategic information, monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Provide support to all RHMT-level activities on the project
  • Ensure all collected project data are complete, clean and valid
  • Assist and/or lead in M&E capacity building at RHMTs & IPs as directed by the SI Advisor
  • Conduct routine data quality assessments and provide reports on the assessment and finding
  •  Provide inputs and technical support for the design and deployment of HMIS and M&E tools
  • Provide mentorship to RHMT and Local Implementing Partner in all HMIS and M&E activities
  • Any other duty as you may be assigned by the team lead.


Requirements

  • 6+ years of applicable work experience with health management information systems.
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing, Statistics, or Health Informatics (Advanced Degree preferred; relevant experience may be substituted).
  • Ability to communicate technical data to non-technical audiences
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas
  • Conducting/managing capacity building needs assessments related to health information systems (HIS);
  • Data manipulation for decision making;
  • Training for data use
  •  Data Quality Assurance /Quality Improvement;
